It is a bypass system, independent of the engine and removes water and sludge from your diesel tank - Connected to the drain, or via the Dip Tube, it will lift water
from the very bottom of the tank, BELOW the fuel suction. The fuel returned to the top of the tank is cleaned through a fine washable stainless steel filter.
If you do not have a drain on your tank – We can supply a Dip Tube. A flange mouned on the top of the tank that allows a 10mm pipe to be pushed through to rest on the bottom.
All Diesel tanks WILL have water, due to changes in modern diesel, differing temperatures causing condensation, leaking tank fittings or poor quality bunkered fuel. You only need a small amount of water to cause problems. Remove the water and you remove and prevent diesel bug and accelerated degredation of the fuel.
Firstly, the fuel passes through our patented tank separator which collects water, diesel bug and other contaminants which can then be removed via the manual drain tap. Finally clean fuel passes through the stainless steel washable filter before going back into the top of the tank.
The Diesel Dipper is fully pumped and can be fitted anywhere within the proximity of the tank.
Anybody with reasonable DIY skills can fit it. We provide full instructions and telephone advice is available if required.
The water & contaminants are stored in the Tank Separator and are dispersed by way of a manual drain tap. A battery operated water sensor is also available.
Water seperators between the tank and the engine also incorporate a filter. The primary objective is to remove contaminates in the filter so are not as effective at removing water, additionally as they are fitted in the fuel suction they are not removing anything on the very bottom. When you see sludge in your seperator it is because has been sloshed up from the bottom and the bottom of the tank could have heavy contamination.
The Diesel Dipper primary objecive is to remove water and sludge from the very bottom ensuring the tank floor is kept clean at all times.
The objective is to remove the water
from the very bottom of the tank where it collects. Generally it is best to run it whilst the vessel is underway as this is when the contents at the bottom of the tank are being sloshed about and will be picked up by the Dipper. After fitting, once all the sludge and water has been removed. We would recommend running the Dipper at least once per week, whilst underway if possible, to keep the tank bottom clean. The key is to drain the water off regularly. You
can adjust the usage by the amount of water you are having to drain.
The pump is 12v DC . 30 watts so will draw approx 2.5 amps.
A 24v pump is available or we can supply a 24/12v DC/DC converter
2-2.5 litres per minute, depending upon the distance from the tank and the head of fuel. The return should be to the top of the tank.
The flow rate is deliberately slow so that it "gently" lifts the water, preventing the fuel from emulsifying.

Unfortunately, no. This is a "bypass system" designed to suck from the very bottom of the tank and returned to the to the top of the tank.
